Every couple of months Facebook decides to keep users on their toes and change it up. Image size is no exception. It is important to make sure that your business page stays up to date with all the current regulations.
Facebook Image Sizes for Businesses in 2020
There are a variety of image sizes needed for a Facebook page. For businesses, these sizes vary from personal pages.
The cover photo is the first thing a user sees when they navigate to your business page. Unfortunately, Facebook’s information for the size of this area isn’t always optimized for mobile as well as desktop.
Your business page’s profile photo displays at 170×170 pixels on desktops and 128×128 pixels on smartphones. However, it is recommended to upload a photo larger than 170 x 170 since the photo will be cropped. I recommend around 400 pixels square. However, even though Facebook says the photo will remain in a square shape, it is a circle. Also, make sure to upload your business logo as a PNG file to avoid pixelation during the cropping process.
Even though there isn’t much flexibility for cover photos and profile pictures, posting on Facebook is easier. The social media giant will optimize image posts to help. Therefore, creating a 1200 x 1200 or 1080 x 1080 image post will work equally for Facebook as well as Instagram. Vertical and horizontal images also work.
Stories are not just for Instagram anymore. Facebook shares them as well. When a user clicks on the image, it will fill the entire device. However, these images are a completely different size than regular posts. These photos are taller and thinner than traditional posts. It is recommended to have a photo that is 1920 x 1080.
